Matthew Mercurio, Ph.D.

Matthew Mercurio Dr. Mercurio is currently engaged in the design and analysis of a stated choice (conjoint) survey of consumer attitudes and willingness to pay for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) to assist utilities in their planning efforts. He is also assisting in the development of enrollment forecasts and ex-post load reduction predictions in order to generate ex-ante load reduction forecasts for PG&E’s SmartRate and SmartAC programs using both regression and survey techniques.

Dr. Mercurio specializes in applied statistical analysis and econometric modeling. He has applied these skills to both public and private litigation, as well as other legal matters. Dr. Mercurio’s skills in experience in applied statistical analysis include: Analysis of longitudinal (panel) data, Limited dependent and latent variables, Analysis of time series data, including ARIMA modeling, event studies, forecasting, and simulation, and Survey design and sampling analysis. Dr. Mercurio holds a Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University and a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Boston University.
