Mr. Mangasarian is currently performing data management and analysis on a panel dataset of large commercial and industrial customers for the Ontario Power Authority. The scope of this project includes propensity-to-participate and load impact analyses relating to OPA’s demand response program. In addition, he has worked extensively on FSC’s FERC DR potential modeling and analysis. For this project, he gathered hourly load data from roughly 20 utilities nationwide and used this data to estimate a model isolating weather sensitive and non-weather sensitive load that can be used to estimate base load energy use by rate period as a function of air conditioning saturations.
Mr. Mangasarian has been a key contributor to the load impact analyses on several of SCE & PG&E’s DR programs including the agricultural pumping interruptible program, as well as time-of-use and peak-day-pricing programs. Additionally, he assisted in qualitative research to evaluate and improve program design and delivery for Southern California Edison’s suite of demand response programs.
